Kansas City, MO - The 2007 Daktronics-National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women's Soccer Scholar-Athletes have been announced with over 300 student-athletes receiving the honor, including Cascade's Desirae Pino, a senior from Empire, CA. Over 100 schools are represented on this prestigious list.

In order to be a recipient of the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete award, one must fulfill these requirements: the recipient must be a junior or above in academic standing; has been in attendance at the nominating institution a minimum of one full year of attendance; has a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of nomination at the nominating institution; has been certified by the school as eligible.
 
"Desirae has been a valuable member of our team, and has set the example for the program in her studies." said coach Justin Bigelow. "Balancing academics with athletics is a difficult task, and Des has excelled in the classroom and on the field."
