Portland, OR - Head coach Bryant Howard is pleased to announce that standout high school runners and sisters Megan and Janelle Everetts have signed letters of intent to run cross country for Cascade College for the 2008 season.
 
The twins just finished outstanding seasons at McKay High School in Salem, Oregon for coach Dan Kaplan.

Janelle finished 5th at the 2007 6A State XC Championships and qualified for the post season Borderclash race. It was her 3rd time as a State qualifier and her personal best in the 5k is 18:46. She is also the Central Valley Conference champion in the 800 meters. "I am excited about running at the college level," said Janelle. "Coach Howard has been very helpful through the whole process, and I am looking forward to studying and competing at Cascade."
 
Megan placed 4th at the Central Valley Conference meet, and finshed 35th at the 2007 6A XC Championships. It was her 4th year as a state qualifier. "I am looking forward to running for coach Howard and starting my college career," said Megan. "I want to perform to the best of my ability, keep improving year after year, and help the team at Cascade be successful."
 
"We're serious about being a top-tier program and signing Megan and Janelle is a huge step in the right direction.," commented coach Howard. "Both are great students, and terrific competitors with a desire to be part of something special. They will leave their mark on the Cascade campus and the entire NAIA before they are finished."
