PORTLAND, Ore. - Head Coach Matt Murphy has announce that Maya Gross will be transferring to Cascade College to continue her education and play women's basketball for the 2008-09 season.

Gross, a 5-8 forward, comes from NCAA Div. II Dixie State College in St. George, UT where she was a 2 year member of the Rebel team. In 2007-08 she made 11 starts for Dixie, averaging 2.3 points and  4.3 rebounds. The rebounding mark was 3rd best on the team.

Priot to Dixie State, Gross was the Region Defensive Player of the Year, and All-Region Honorable Mention at Brighton HS in  Salt lake City, UT. Maya will major in Psychology at Cascade.

"Maya is a versatile player who will fit in well with our style of play," said coach Murphy. "I like that she brings a nice balance to her game in that she can be effective around the basket along with being a threat as a face up player. She is also a physical rebounder who will give us a strong defensive presence."
