PORTLAND, Ore. - Cascade College Head Women's Basketball Coach Matt Murphy rounded out his recruiting class today, announcing the signing of Jamie Glover from Santa Ana College.
Glover, a 5'7 point guard played in all 63 games for Head Coach Flo Luppani. One of the most respected coaches in the state, Luppani was recently voted the California Community Colleges WBCA President.
"I know Cascade and Coach Murphy will be thrilled to have Jamie for the next two years," said Coach Luppani. "She is an excellent point guard and a great leader. We enjoyed having her lead our team for the past two years and are happy that she will follow in the footsteps of many of our players who have gone on to continue their careers at the next level."
Last season, Glover led the Dons to an 18-14 record and the second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs before losing to eventual champion Mt. San Antonio. She led her team with 53 three pointers, 114 assists, and 65 steals and was the second leading scorer with a 10.9 points per game average. As a freshman, Glover averaged 6.9 points per game and 2.9 rebounds per game. She was second on the team with 90 assists.
Prior to Santa Ana College, Glover was an all-league player at Southern California powerhouse, Villa Park High School. The four year letter winner led her team to a 31-3 overall and 10-0 league record her senior season. The Spartans advanced all the way to the CIF Southern California Championships before dropping a 35-31 decision to eventual State Champion Troy High School.
"I'm really excited about Jamie joining Cascade," said Cascade College head coach Matt Murphy. "She's a tough, hard-nosed point guard who has come from well coached programs at both high school and junior college. I'm looking forward to watching her progress both academically and athletically."
Glover completes an extraordinary recruiting class in only Murphy's second year at the helm. In his first season,the T-Birds won 15 games and advanced to the conference tournament semifinals for the first time in school history.
