PORTLAND, Ore. - Head men's basketball coach Anthony Baugher has announced the signing of two more players for the 2008-2009 season.

In football, Nick was 1st team all-conference and 2nd team all-state and holds the school record for receiving yards (1109).  He was also voted team captain and received the SRV Scholar Athlete award.

"What impressed me from the start about Nick was his willingness to compete," Cascade head coach Anthony Baugher states. "He is the type of student-athlete that will do whatever it takes to get minutes on the court, we need that attitude here on a daily basis; Nick will bring that to our program.'

Nick holds several school records at Homedale high school in basketball also; 1st in three points, 1st steals, 1st (tied) for free throws, 2nd in assists, 3rd in all-time scoring (1183 total varsity points).  He was the SRV player of the year, 1st team all-conference, 1st team all-state, team captain, and an SRV Scholar Athlete as well. During Nick's junior year of high school he was selected 1st team all-conference in baseball.  The school did not provide baseball his senior year.

After high school, Nick played basketball at Treasure Valley CC where he redshirted his freshman year and became a starter and captain his sophomore year.  During his sophomore season, Nick averaged 9.3 points and 3.2 assists per game.  Nick will major in Business Administration.

John Pflaum is from Portland, Oregon and played basketball and football at Portland Christian high school.  John was selected as the Northwest League (2A) offensive player of the year for football during his senior year of high school.  On the basketball court, John averaged 11.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game last season at PC.

"John is looking forward to the opportunity of playing at this level," Cascade head coach Anthony Baugher stated. "He brings so much to our program; he is a proven winner, in the classroom and in athletics.
