Salem, OR - A last minute T-Bird attacking effort was rewarded with a foul whistled in the box as Cascade defeated Corban 2-1 yesterday in Salem on a penalty kick with 28 seconds left

The contest was moved to the turf field at Willamette University thanks to the steady rains that have made Corban's pitch unplayable.

Despite outshooting the host Warriors 16-4 in the first half, it was Corban who found the back of the net first as Caleb Lovier scored with under a minute remaining until the break. The T-Birds were held off the board with quality goalkeeping from the Warriors' Aaron Franklin.

Cascade finally broke through with a close in shot from Kevin Youatt, who took a pass from Fredrico Snow and tied the game in the 70th minute. It looked as if the game would head for overtime before the Warriors conceded the foul in the box in the waining seconds. Mario Vivanco converted the penalty try, his second of the year, to provide the game winner.

Anthony Trejo played all 90 minutes and picked up the victory in goal for Cascade, making 2 saves.

The T-Birds improve to 6-6-0 in CCC play, and 7-8-0 overall. Corban falls to 3-6-2 and 5-8-2 overall.
