Portland, OR - The T-Bird volleyball team said goodbye to three seniors with a 30-18, 30-17, 31-29 win over Evergreen State tonight in the final contest of the 2007 season.

 

Amanda Cochran, Vanessa Fleetwood, and Ashli Itami each played their last game for Cascade, and each were stars of the match. 

Games 1 and 2 were solid wins for Cascade as they hit for a combined .475 percentage, compared to .127 for the Geoducks. Game 3 went down to the wire, as Evergreen played with heart despite having just 6 players in uniform. A Candace Gleaves kill tied the game at 29, but a booming kill from Meagan Stanley and a Stanley/Claire Van Meer combo block ended the match. 

 

Cochran swung for 10 kills versus just 1 error to lead Cascade's offense. Fleetwood added 8 kills and 11 defensive digs in her final match. Itami wrapped up her career by contributing a team high 12 digs, and a service ace.

 

The Greeners' Gleaves hit for a match high 16 kills, and Sabrina Tan added 13.
