Adam Decker - Assistant Coach
Head men's basketball coach Anthony Baugher has announced that Adam Decker will be joining the program as an assistant coach. "We are honored to have an assistant coach of Adam's caliber," coach Baugher said. "He has played in this conference and understands what it takes to be successful at this level. We look forward to his leadership and mentoring abilities, this is exactly what our program needs."
Coach Decker comes to Cascade College from Portland Christian high school were he had been the assistant varsity coach for 4 years. While at PC, his duties included individual instruction, shooting drills, breaking down game film, scouting reports, and bench coaching. In his tenure at Portland Christian, the basketball program has been extremely successful, making state appearances each year highlighted by winning a state title in the 2007-08 season.
Coach Decker played at South Medford High School where he was all-conference for the Panthers. After high school, he attended Southwestern Oregon Community College. He played in the NWACC all-star game and holds school records in 3-pointers made, and 3-point percentage. He finished his college career at Warner Pacific College earning honors as a member of the Cascade Conference All-Newcomer Team, and leading the nation in free-throw percentage his junior year.
"It is a blessing and a privilege to be joining the Men's basketball program," states Coach Decker, "I look forward to building a strong program with coach Baugher and being a reflection of Christ while bringing a passion and love for the game of basketball."
Coach Decker earned his degree in Social Science with a minor in Education, and currently teaches History at Portland Christian.
