Coach Howard enters his second year at the reigns of the Cascade program and has already made strides toward elevating the Thunderbirds program.  He previously coached at La Salle HS in Milwaukie, OR, where he was the head cross country and track coach. During his time at La Salle Coach Howard was able to grow their XC and Track team, which previously suffered declining success and participation, to one of the largest programs and most successful in the state of Oregon with nearly 25% of the La Salle student body participating in one or both sports.  Under his guidance the Falcon's acheived a new level of success.  In track numerous decades old school records were shattered and in the the fall the boys' Cross Country team claimed back to back Capitol Conference Championships while the girls team qualified for the OSAA State Championships in consecutive years after 25 years without an appearance at the meet.  A skilled developer of individual talent, several of Coach Howard's athletes earned All-League and All-State recognition.

Prior to La Salle, Howard coached a number of professional and elite amateur triathletes in Portland area. He also was an assistant cross country coach at Sunset HS in Beaverton under Ken Bell.

Coach Bryant earned a BA in Sociology from the University of Oregon 1993. He has also done post graduate work at the University of San Francisco.

Coach Howard resides in Clackamas with his wife Janet.
